Dawn of the Dead is a bloody good time
Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Motto: "If there is no more room in hell, the dead walk the earth."
Let me begin this review by the Committee of the horror movie blasphemy. Ready? Here goes. George Romero's original three films are exaggerated dead (I will not comment on it, also on board the train wreck that is the land of the dead). While entertaining, but also by an average household filmsavec brokerage and das speed is so slow shambling that they zombies. Only the Holy Trinity was made.
And do not forget the great praise of social criticism. Racism? Rampant consumerism? This is done with the subtlety of a hammer on the back of the head. Listen, if I want to be a social commentary in a film, I will, to see Gandhi and Norma Rae. If I were in a zombie film, I do not want to stop and Desanges bucket. Period. Everything else is just not blution uciliegina about the horrors of my ice. For Questi reasons (and others, I have below), it seems to me that the 2004-version of Dawn of the Dead more satisfactory than the original.
Adapted by James Gunn (Scooby Doo) from the original George A. Romero indent 1978 Dawn of the Dead opens, so that, in order briefly with the central protagonist of the film, a beautiful young infirmièresra named Ana (Sarah Polley). But his style S-Life, which brieflys vision, and a pandemic misterioseiner is said that Ana escape zombie movie Ravenous altats before the ten minutes. Reacts quickly Kenneth (Ving Rhames), a difficult to nail the police, and spend a few minutes later,
Michael (Jake Weber), a soft, natural leader, but he speaks, Andre (Mekhi Phifer), a man with a questionable past, and Luda (Inna Korobkina), Andrés Embarazo friend.
They found refuge in a large shopping center, but against velocezione
unless the hospital Wachmannza CJ (Michael Kelly), Bart (Michael Barry) and Terry (Kevin Zegers). Add Laguado characters, especially Steve (Ty Burrell), a smart-ass yuppie, and Andy (Bruce Bohne), the owner of a nearby gun shop. How horrible infection spreads throughout the world and the situation becomes increasingly desperate, the characters are cCOMPTE that the help came from outside. If you want to survive, devonont pick up things. For Ggap for us, chain saws,
increased shielding shuttle parking, and propane tanks rigged with improvised bombs.
The action is fast in the furious, and director Zack Snyder (the management of their first film) is a good pace of work and the right to the thick of things. Êtrebreexplotación tend to slow down the effect of the movement, when there is an explosion or a cartridge from a firearm, but can be forgiven because they (a) is his firstAttempt, and (b) does not move away from this story. ZuWir also have some solid camera, editing, maintaining a constant speed, but do not confuse the viewer and
excellent special effects, with a lot of brains and blood for all.
The soundtrack plays a role in the film essentielental, a dimension to the scene. From Johnny Cash in "When the man Comes Around", ala the opening credits sequence (which, incidentally, is much better than Zomoffer movie in length), "those who have died" by Jim CarrollL-band, and a lounge version of "Down with the Sickness" by Richard Cheese & Lounge Against the Machine, to me is why the studio decided to no opportunity to give this soundtrack.
The plot is very good for a film of this type, and Sarah Polley and Jake Weber is particularly impressive in the role of Miguel and Ana siain the location, a quiet sincerity of his functions, they do not leicht in a film by the thirst for meat and Ghouls regurgitation weapons. The Verteilungist much larger than the original, but each character is a time to shine and let the audience identifies with them.
Certainly, nobody has to the extent that essieumplo, George C. Scott 's Patton and Denzel in Malcolm X, but what to expect from a horror movie? This is not a biography, friends.
Fans of the original Dawn likes to see cameos by Ken Fore, ScottCleaner, and "Sex Machine" Tom Savini. There are many other candidates for the original film and not distracted is a feeling that the filmmakers have a great affection for his predecessor. But make no mistake, this film is in its propiacon a team of different characters climax and complete stop. The comparison between the two are inevitable, but ultimately injuste for both images. E 'in comparison to the original Atari to Xbox. Both sind an explosion, but is simply a hopelessly obsolete when modern standards.
It should also be noted that the film continues attRavers the final credits, so they do not run when the lights begin to emerge. If yes, probablemententre end of the salt with Unidea quite different, what happened to those who remain.
The Dawn of the Dead in a classico updates and improvements on the road. The action is faster, the fastest and ZomBies, all products are better. This is a modern zombie film production and the price is worth the admission.
